Enhanced Model Portfolio

MI is a primer of an easy, DIY, forecast-free approach to investing. I call it 'enhanced lazy portfolio'. It is a balanced, globally diversified model ETF/CEF portfolio with a few quality stocks which might be added as well. The project started in May 2011 as a 'lazy' passive risk-managed global portfolio, and has evolved into a model which now embraces value-oriented passive as well as momentum/trend-following frameworks in investing. The ideas are inspired by research and the great investors who successfully implemented these frameworks.

To learn more and track the portfolio:
  1. Follow me on Twitter - I post a few times a week, and tactical and re-balancing trades are tweeted during weekends, with not much details, only trade direction (buy/sell) and ticker symbol (preceded by $-sign, which helps search and track all these at Twitter and StockTwits). In 2013 my microblogging will be followed by a weekly reports to subscribers, with limited commentary.
  2. Find the archive of reports, as well as asset allocation and performance history which are published with delay for free.
  3. Sign up here (after reading disclaimer and refund policy below) to get weekly email updates for just USD 2 / quarter or USD 6 / year (25% off). Full transaction details and asset allocation for this week will be delivered to you by e-mail after your funds have been accepted (PayPal only). Going forward weekly updates will be delivered to you on weekends till your subscription ends. The subscribers will be getting transaction details and portfolio weights, as provided by Morningstar portfolio tracker (my tracker of choice). Occasionally I may be including some commentary, but I want to keep it quick, concise and simple, as my basic methodology and approach are not changing. I will be adding some stock positions, on value and momentum ratings as well, but each individual stock name will be limited to 10% of the portfolio for high quality stocks, and will not take more than 30% combined.

All transactions are accounted for at each week's last business day closing prices. To make the model more practical I have introduced brokerage commission expense of USD 7 which will be deducted from the account after each transaction.

What this newsletter is NOT (disclaimer):

1) Not an advice or recommendation to buy or sell any securities. I am sharing my approach for information purposes only. You are encouraged to contact your financial adviser and do your own due diligence, taking into account your objectives and personal circumstances.

2) Not a forecast. I believe forecasting financial markets is a waste of time. I share my views as well as interesting opinions of trusted experts for entertainment and information purposes only. Some of these views impact my asset allocation, which I disclose. You are encouraged to study carefully any assumptions/opinions and consider limitations of out-guessing the market (which is sometimes indeed 'wrong', but may stay so for a long time). As in medicine, "do no harm" is a fundamental principle before taking an active management route.
